Hario cloth filter for syphon brewers. Cloth filters are long-lasting and let more oils through than paper without letting sediment pass, so syphon coffee comes out smooth, round-bodied and clean. It is the traditional filter for the method.
Before first use, boil the filter in clean water for a few minutes. Attach it to the filter holder, place it in the upper bowl and check that it sits centrally so no coffee passes round the edges. Continue with your usual syphon routine.
After use, rinse the filter well in clean water without soap and store it submerged in clean water in the fridge, changing the water often. Never let it dry out with coffee residue, as it will develop off-odours. Replace it when the flow or smell changes.
